Today's A New Day

Today’s Word With Joel & Victoria Osteen – The Place Of Blessing

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:

“Then the word of the Lord came to Elijah: ‘Leave here, turn eastward and hide in the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan. You will drink from the brook, and I have directed the ravens to supply you with food there.'”
1 Kings 17:2-4, NIV

TODAY’S WORD:

As a child of the Most High God, your steps are ordered by Him. He has a specific place of blessing prepared for you. When you live a life of obedience to the Word of God, He promises to supply every one of your needs. Just as God directed Elijah to his place of blessing, God is directing you, too. He’s aligning the right opportunities for you and causing the right people to come along your path to help you get ahead. He’s constantly working behind the scenes on your behalf. But you have to do your part to keep your heart open by following His Word and keeping an attitude of faith and expectancy. A major key to keeping your heart in the right place is choosing peace and unity. The Bible says that when we live in unity, there He has commanded the blessing. And when your heart is in the place of blessing, the rest of your life will be in the place of blessing, too. Today, choose peace, choose obedience and choose the place of blessing.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

“Father, I come to You with a grateful heart. Thank You for leading me and directing my steps. Help me to see others the way You see them so I can honor You and live in unity all the days of my life in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Today’s Word With Joel & Victoria Osteen – In His Eyes

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:

“As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him; for he knows how we are formed…”
Psalm 103:13-14, NIV

TODAY’S WORD:

It’s interesting to see how a parent views their new baby. It doesn’t matter what that baby looks like; it doesn’t matter if their head is still coned, if their nose is still squashed, if they cry or make a mess, that baby is the apple of its parent’s eyes. They see that child as the most beautiful, perfect creation. They are just as proud and excited as they can be.

Parents see their own children differently than other people do. As believers in Jesus, it’s the same way with our heavenly Father. You are the apple of His eye. No matter what, He sees you as His most perfect creation. He is proud of you. You are the joy of His heart. Sure, you may make some mistakes; you may fall; you may make a mess, but He is right there ready to pick you up, clean you off and calm your soul. In His eyes, you are an overcomer; you are victorious; you are strong. In His eyes, you are pure and whole. Today, trust in His love, trust in His goodness, and trust that you can find safety and rest in His eyes.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

“Father, thank You for loving me and keeping me close to You always. I trust that You have my best interest at heart and that You are working in my life because You are my Father. I open my heart and mind to You to receive Your love in a fresh, new way in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Today’s Word With Joel & Victoria Osteen – Every Day Is A Gift

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:

“Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”
Psalm 90:12, NIV

TODAY’S WORD:

Sometimes our days can be so full and busy that we forget how fragile life really is. It’s easy to allow little things to creep in and steal our peace and joy. Maybe something doesn’t go our way or someone says something upsetting. Even traffic can cause us to lose focus if we let it. We have to remember that each day is a gift. If we choose to focus on what’s wrong, we’ll miss the beauty that each day has to offer.

Today, don’t let the precious moments of life pass you by. Don’t wait for holidays and birthdays to show people that you care. Remember, each day is unique and irreplaceable. You have been given time that can be invested or wasted; hours that can be used or misused. That’s why the psalmist prayed to God, “Teach us to number our days.” He was saying, “Teach us to value every moment we’ve been given.” As you daily keep a proper perspective, you’ll gain a heart of wisdom. You’ll draw closer to God and experience the full blessing that He has for you each and every day!

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

“Father, thank You for the gift of today. I choose to focus on the blessing of each moment instead of allowing the little things to steal my joy. Keep me close to You always as I submit every area of my heart and mind to You in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Today’s Word With Joel & Victoria Osteen – Receive The Gift

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:

“Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.”
John 1:12, NIV

TODAY’S WORD:

What an amazing privilege it is to know that when we receive Jesus, we become children of the Most High God! The scripture says we are “adopted” into His family. In the natural, by law an adoptive parent can never disown their adopted child. In the same way, God will never disown you! When you receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you become a permanent part of God’s family.

This privilege is a free gift, and when you receive this gift, it’s the beginning of a long life of blessing. Receiving Him means receiving all that He is and all of His promises for your life. It’s a process, but remember, God is the one working in your life, and He promises to complete what He’s started in you. Your part is to keep your heart open and receive by faith every gift, every promise, and every blessing in His Word. Receive by saying thank you. Receive by declaring His truth over your life. Receive by obeying the Word of God. Put the Word of God into practice in your life and receive every blessing He has for you!

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

“Father, thank You for the gift of eternal, abundant life. Today, I open my heart and mind to You. Have Your way in my heart and help me to receive the wonderful blessings You have for me in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Today’s Word With Joel & Victoria Osteen – Use The Gift

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:

“Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.”
Joshua 1:8, NIV

TODAY’S WORD:

Have you ever received a gift card that you stored in a special place for so long that you forgot you had it? Most of them have an expiration date, and if you don’t use it, you will surely lose it! The same is true with the Word of God. No, the Word doesn’t ever expire, but we have to take action and use His Word in order to receive His promises. Just like you exchange your gift card for the things you need at the store, His Word gives you the power to receive every promise He has for you.

As today’s verse tells us, when you declare His Word and keep your heart and mind open to Him, you are using the gift. You are opening the door for Him to move in your life. For example, if you’re facing lack in any area, receive the gift of provision by declaring, my God shall supply all my needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). If there’s a mountain in your way, receive the gift of victory that says, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13).

Today and every day, use the gift He’s given you. Make His Word a priority and don’t let it depart from your mouth. As you do, He’ll make your way prosperous, and you’ll enjoy the abundant life He has for you!

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

“Father, thank You for Your Word which is truth to set me free. I determine in my heart to set Your Word into motion in my life. Keep me close to You so that I can please You in everything I do in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Today’s Word With Joel & Victoria Osteen – For Your Own Sake

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:

“For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.”
Matthew 6:14-15, NIV

TODAY’S WORD:

In life, we all have unfair things that happen to us. We can choose to hold on to the hurt, become bitter and angry, and let it poison our future; or, we can choose to let it go and trust God to make it up to us. You may not think that you are able to forgive because someone hurt you so badly. You might say, “You don’t know how I was raised.” Or, “My ex-spouse caused me a lot of pain.” “This friend betrayed me.” “I just can’t let it go.” Realize that forgiveness isn’t for their sake; forgiveness is for your own sake. When you forgive, you are taking away their power to hurt you. But if you hold on to that offense and stay angry, you are only poisoning your own life and disconnecting yourself from God.

Forgiveness is like a door on your heart. If you shut the door and refuse to forgive, then God cannot forgive you. But when you open the door and allow forgiveness to flow from you, then His forgiveness can flow into you. Choose to forgive and open the door to receive God’s life, peace and healing today.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

“God, thank You for the gift of forgiveness that sets me free. Help me to truly understand what it means to forgive so I can receive Your forgiveness. Search me today and have Your way in my heart in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Today’s Word With Joel & Victoria Osteen – One Thought At A Time

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:

“…take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”
2 Corinthians 10:5, NIV

TODAY’S WORD:

Transforming something in your life whether it’s your attitude, mindset, financial situation or bringing change into a relationship can seem like an overwhelming task. But as the old saying goes, “How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.” Likewise, the way you change your life is one thought at a time.

Your thoughts set the direction of your life. If you need to change the direction you are headed, you simply need to change your thoughts in that area. When a thought comes to your mind that “you’re never going to get well; this is your lot in life,” don’t dwell on that. Don’t sit around and have a pity party. No, immediately reject it and replace it with God’s Word. Just say, “Father, You said in Isaiah, ’By the stripes of Jesus I am healed.’ You said in Jeremiah, ’You would restore health unto me.’ So Father, I thank You that I’m coming out of this in the name of Jesus.”

I encourage you to be aggressive in taking every single thought and making it obedient to Christ. Stay determined, stay focused and keep declaring His Word because you can change your life, one thought at a time!

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

“Father, thank You for empowering me today to become better, stronger, more alive and blessed. I receive Your Word as truth and choose to change my life one thought at a time. Thank You for leading me and guiding me by Your Spirit in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Today’s Word With Joel & Victoria Osteen – Recognize What You Have

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:

“So David triumphed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone; without a sword in his hand he struck down the Philistine and killed him.”
1 Samuel 17:50, NIV

TODAY’S WORD:

So often we focus on what we don’t have, how big our obstacles are, and how bad the economy is. “I don’t have the connections. I’ve got this problem, but I don’t have anybody to help me. I’ve got this dream, but I don’t have the resources.” No, here is the truth: everything you need to fulfill your destiny is within reach. God will always use something that’s close to you. It may not look extraordinary, but you have what it takes to fulfill your destiny.

When David faced the giant, Goliath, all he had was a slingshot and five stones. It looked ordinary. He could have thought, “I’m not going to face Goliath. That would be foolish. I don’t have a chance.” No, David knew that with God on his side, those ordinary stones would be exactly what he needed. Sure enough, David defeated Goliath and made history.

Today, remember, victory isn’t about what you have, it’s about God’s anointing on what you have. With God on your side, all things are possible! Focus on Him and what He can do in your life because He has extraordinary things in store for you.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

“Father, thank You for equipping me for success and victory in this life. Help me to clearly see the opportunities, connections and resources You have ordained for me. I trust that with You, all things are possible in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Today’s Word With Joel & Victoria Osteen – Make Room

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:

“I will look on you with favor and make you fruitful and increase your numbers, and I will keep my covenant with you. You will still be eating last year’s harvest when you will have to move it out to make room for the new.”
Leviticus 26:9-10, NIV

TODAY’S WORD:

God wants to bless and multiply you. He wants to increase you above and beyond what you could ever ask, think or imagine. But sometimes, we fill our lives with so much that we simply don’t have room to receive all that God wants to give us. People fill their lives with good things, noteworthy obligations and impressive accomplishments. But “good” can be the enemy of “best.” We have to take the time to evaluate what we have in our hands and be willing to move some things out in order to make room for the new thing God has for us.

Today, take some time to evaluate your life. Be open to what God wants to do in and through you. If your hands are full, maybe it’s time to use what you have to bless other people. Don’t let holding on to yesterday keep you from God’s best. Instead, make room because He has abundant blessings in store for you.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

“Father, today I open my hands and heart to You. I choose to release anything spiritually, physically or emotionally that would keep me from Your best. Search my heart, God, and show me where I need to make adjustments to make room for You in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Today’s Word With Joel & Victoria Osteen – Our Father

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:

“This, then, is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.'”
Matthew 6:9, NIV

TODAY’S WORD:

In the Lord’s Prayer, have you ever really noticed the way God wants you to address Him? Yes, He is the Almighty King of the universe. Yes, He is the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. Yes, He is the Omnipotent, Omnipresent and Omniscient One. We should acknowledge and honor His grandeur; we should praise Him because of who He is. But notice that God wants us to address Him as Father first. He wants us to know Him in a close, personal way. He wants to have a loving relationship with you.

So many people view God the way they view their earthly father. If their earthly father was loving and kind, it’s easy to see God the same way. However, if your earthly father was distant or harsh, you may have difficulty seeing God as He really is. Today, search your heart and let go of any preconceived ideas about God. Ask Him to show you who He really is. Be open to receiving His love in a fresh, new way.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

“Father, I come to You because You are good and faithful. Thank You for loving me and receiving me just the way I am. Show me Your ways; show me Your love and let me know You in a fresh, new way in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Today’s Word With Joel & Victoria Osteen – Constant Gratitude

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:

“O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever!”
1 Chronicles 16:34, AMPC

TODAY’S WORD:

No matter what may be happening in the world around you, you can always find something to thank God for. Gratitude is a powerful force that opens the door to God’s blessing. Having constant gratitude proves your faith in God because not only do you thank Him for what He has done in the past, you thank Him for what He will do in the future. It’s that kind of faith that pleases God. Constant gratitude also shows humility because when we are thankful, we magnify God instead of magnifying our problems. It gives us proper perspective and opens the door for God’s grace, favor and supernatural empowerment.

So what are you grateful for today? Are you grateful for the sun that shines and brings a new day? Are you thankful for the gift of eternal life? As you choose an attitude of constant gratitude, you’ll experience His mercy and loving-kindness in greater ways. You’ll be filled with His peace and joy and pave the way to move forward into the abundant life He has prepared for you!

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

“Father in heaven, thank You for another day to praise You. Thank You for all You have done in my life. Help me to see Your hand of blessing as I continually acknowledge and praise Your name in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Today’s Word With Joel & Victoria Osteen – He Holds The Keys

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:

“I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.”
Revelation 1:18, NIV

TODAY’S WORD:

Have you ever been locked out of your car or house? It can be very frustrating and inconvenient. Not having your keys can keep you stuck and unproductive. It steals your time and can steal your peace and joy if you let it.

In the same way, we need spiritual keys to access what God has for us—eternal life, peace, freedom and blessing here on earth. But we don’t have to stand on the outside and be frustrated because Jesus holds the keys, and He has opened the way for us to walk through the door of eternal life. Eternal life begins the moment you make Him your Lord and Savior. You don’t have to live in defeat, mediocrity, sickness, sin or any kind of bondage any longer; you have access to the abundant life Jesus came to give!

Today, if you feel stuck, locked out or defeated, remember, Jesus is the one who holds the keys. All you have to do is call on His name, and He will answer. He promises to hear you and will deliver you. He wants to be the hero of your story, so call on Him today and receive the victory He has prepared for you!

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

“Father God, I boldly come to You thanking You for giving me access to eternal life through Your Son, Jesus. I surrender every area of my heart to You and invite You to make me whole and complete. Set me free from every bondage so I can live free in You in Jesus’ name. Amen.
