Today's A New Day

REJOICE!!!! In It….

Today’s Word With Joel & Victoria Osteen – Choose Joy!

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:

“You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours.”
(Psalms 128:2, NIV)

TODAY’S WORD:

Did you know that having a life full of joy and fulfillment is a matter of choice? Many people are not living in victory today because they have walked around with a chip on their shoulder. They are constantly complaining, always dwelling on what they don’t have, or focusing on their problems.

Let me encourage you to stay out of that trap. Wake up every morning and begin each new day by counting your blessings. Take time to make a list. Write down at least ten things that you are thankful for. Whatever your situation in life, find things to add to the list.

Keep your list in a place where you can see it every day. When you feel yourself getting negative, when you’re beginning to get discouraged, check your list; read it out loud. Focus on all of the blessings that God has given you. Begin to thank Him for what He has already done for you and for all that He has in store for your future.

Give God an offering of thanksgiving every day. As you begin to express your appreciation and praise to the Lord, you will begin to see Him pour out His blessings and favor in greater portions, and you’ll experience the overcoming life of victory He has in store for you.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

God, I am making the decision today to be a grateful person! You have richly blessed me and I am going to count those blessings everyday. When I make a daily list of 10, it will be in honor of You. In Jesus’ name – Amen.

Today’s Word With Joel & Victoria Osteen – It’s Time For An Attitude Adjustment

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.”
(Philippians 4:6, NLT)

TODAY’S WORD:

Many people ask us, “Why am I not receiving God’s best? My boss is mean, my house is old, and my spouse doesn’t treat me right. It doesn’t seem like my prayers are ever answered!” When people ask us that, we usually encourage them to look at what they just said. Perhaps the answer lies in your attitude.

Have you ever considered that maybe the Lord is waiting for you to be thankful for what you have before He will bless you with more?

The Word instructs us to pray with thanksgiving in every circumstance. Develop an “attitude of gratitude” and see what God will begin to do. He will take you places you’ve never dreamed, and you’ll live the abundant life He has in store for you.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Thank you, God, for the blessings you have given me. I can sit here and think of so many ways you have enriched my life. Always give me an “attitude of gratitude.” In Jesus’ name – Amen.

Today’s Word With Joel & Victoria Osteen – Get Your Hopes Up!

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:

“For through the Spirit we eagerly await by faith the righteousness for which we hope.”
(Galatians 5:5, NIV)

TODAY’S WORD:

What are you expecting in life—good things? Bad things? Big things? Little things? Anything at all? God wants you to get your hopes up! The Bible says, “Faith is the substance of things hoped for.” One definition of hope is confident expectancy. Did you know that you can’t even have faith if you don’t first have hope?

Your expectations set the limits for your life. If you never expect anything good, you’re never going to receive anything good. If you don’t expect things to get better, then nothing will get better. God promises to meet you at your level of expectancy. That’s why Jesus said in Matthew 9:29: “According to your faith be it done to you.” One translation simply says, “Have what your faith expects.”

Make the decision to expect the favor of God in your life! Start expecting to overcome every challenge you face! Start expecting God to meet all of your needs! Live every day of your life filled with anticipation that God is going to bless you exceedingly, abundantly above and beyond your wildest dreams!

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

God, I want to grow in my faith this year. I believe that You want the best for me. Help me learn to expect to be blessed and to face challenges with the confidence that You will see me through. In Jesus’ name – Amen.

Today’s Word With Joel & Victoria Osteen – Change Your Words, Change Your World

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:

“Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life. Put away from you a deceitful mouth, and put devious lips far from you.”
(Proverbs 4:23-24, NASB)

TODAY’S WORD:

We want to encourage you today to watch what you are saying. Your words have creative power, and you can use them as a destructive force or an instrument of blessing. If you continually speak negative words over your life, then eventual defeat will be the result. In the same way, if you speak words of faith and victory, you will see a harvest of blessing not only in your own life, but also in the lives of those around you.

Remember your mother telling you “If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all?” That was good advice. Don’t give life to your negative thoughts by speaking them out. You can’t continue to speak negative words filled with doubt and unbelief and expect to have a positive life full of joy and hope. You can change your situation by changing your words. Talk about your visions and your dreams. Declare that you can do all things through Christ. Declare you are more than a conqueror.

When you find yourself in a difficult situation, don’t say the first thing that pops into your head. Learn to control your emotions and take those thoughts captive. When you use words of faith and victory, God will fight your battles for you. You’ll overcome every challenge that you face and live the abundant life that God has in store for you.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

God, make me an instrument of blessing to those around me. I praise You for giving me self control to hold my tongue rather than give life to negative thoughts. I want to have a positive life full of joy; let that be reflected in what I say today. In Jesus’ name – Amen.

Today’s Word With Joel & Victoria Osteen – The Gift Of Today

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:

“So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.”
(Psalm 90:12, KJV)

TODAY’S WORD:

Sometimes, our days can be so full and busy that we forget how precious and fragile our time on earth really is. It can be so easy to allow little things to creep in and steal our peace and joy. Maybe something didn’t go your way, or someone said something upsetting. Even traffic can cause us to get our focus off if we let it. But, we have to remember that each day is a gift. If we choose to focus on what’s wrong, we’ll miss out on the beauty that each day has to offer.

I encourage you today; don’t let the precious moments of life pass you by. Don’t wait for holidays and birthdays to show people that you care. Remember, each day is unique and irreplaceable, a gift from heaven above. You have been given time that can be invested or wasted; hours that can be used or misused. That’s why the psalmist prayed to God, “Teach us to number our days.” He was saying, “Teach us to value every moment we’ve been given so we can live a life pleasing to You.”

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of today. I choose to focus on the blessing of each moment instead of allowing the little things to steal my joy. Keep me close to You always as I submit every area of my heart and mind to You in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Today’s Word With Joel & Victoria Osteen – Speak Vision

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:

“The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”
(Proverbs 18:21, NIV)

TODAY’S WORD:

Every word you speak matters. Something you say may seem insignificant to you, but to someone else those words can be life changing. When you use your words to lift someone’s spirit and speak words of vision and life over them, you are depositing seeds that will last throughout eternity.

It’s especially important to speak vision into our children. As a parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, teacher or friend, the children in your life need to hear on a regular basis that they can do something great with their lives. As parents, our words carry incredible weight. That’s why you should never put a child down. Don’t ever say, “You’re slow, clumsy or dumb. Why can’t you make good grades like your sister? Why can’t you hit the baseball like your cousin?” Those words are seeds. They can take root and affect that child many years later. Too many people have been crippled by low expectations. But today, all of that can change. Today, you can start to speak vision over yourself and the people in your life. Today, you can call out the seeds of greatness in others and stir up the gift of God inside. Today, speak life, speak hope and speak vision!

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Father, today I choose to speak life. I choose to speak hope. I choose to speak vision. Let me see the people in my life the way You see them. Let me see the potential You have placed in them so that I can call forth their seeds of greatness in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Today’s Word With Joel & Victoria Osteen – Focus On The Unseen

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:

“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
(2 Corinthians 4:18, NIV)

TODAY’S WORD:

Every obstacle in your life is subject to change. It doesn’t matter what you may be facing, there is an answer in the unseen. The unseen is the spiritual realm where the promises of God exist. Your faith brings those unseen things into this natural realm. When you are fixed on something, you can’t be moved. There’s a determination that fuels your focus. When you fix your eyes on the unseen—the promises of God—your faith will not be moved by your circumstances, and you’ll eventually see those promises come to pass. Make the decision today to fix your eyes and mind on the promises of God. Meditate on His promises until they become more real to you than the air you breathe. Declare that His promises will come to pass in your life. Declare that you have His favor. Declare that you are more than a conqueror. Don’t allow fear and doubt to change what you are speaking over your life. As you continue to fix your spiritual eyes on the unseen promises of God, you will see those things come to pass in the natural, and you will move forward into the abundant life the Lord has for you!

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Father God, today I choose to fix my eyes on You. I choose to fix my mind and heart on Your promises no matter what it looks like in this natural world. I know that Your Word is true and that Your promises will be fulfilled in my life. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Today’s Word With Joel & Victoria Osteen – Fear Not! Stand On Faith

TTODAY’S SCRIPTURE:

…”Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will work for you today…”
(Exodus 14:13, ESV)

TODAY’S WORD:

When you step out to do something big for God, the enemy tries to send challenges and distractions to knock you off course. He may try to send you running, but you have a promise that God is working behind the scenes for you. You’ll be amazed at what God will do in your life when you stand and face your challenges. When you take a stand, you make a declaration of your faith in God and automatically raise that shield of faith which extinguishes all the flaming arrows of the evil one (Ephesians 6:16).

So take a stand today and stay on the course the Lord has set for you. Take a stand in your prayer life; take a stand in your Bible study; take a stand in your acts of service and giving to others. Take a stand and see the salvation of the Lord in every area of your life!

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

God, I want to fight the good fight of righteousness! I pray that I find the opportunity to make a stand for my faith today. Help me to stay the course by doing Your will and staying in the Word. Thank you for your unending strength and the promise of salvation. In Jesus’ name – Amen.

Today’s Word With Joel & Victoria Osteen – Choose Your Relationships With Care

TTODAY’S SCRIPTURE:

“He who walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools will be destroyed.”
(Proverbs 13:20, NKJV)

TODAY’S WORD:

The quality of life is often determined by the quality of our relationships. Do you know that you will become like the people you associate with? If you constantly spend your time around lazy and undisciplined people, then before long, you’re going to be lazy and undisciplined. But on the other hand, if you associate with successful people, then you’re going to be successful. If you spend your time with people of vision who are going places in life, you will be inspired to go further than you would on your own.

Take time to examine your friendships. Ask yourself, do I want to be like this person? Do I like their qualities? Do they inspire me to reach for new heights? As you choose to be around wise people, you will become wise and walk in the abundant life God has for you!

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

God, I will choose my friends wisely. Open my eyes to the changes I need to make and give me the courage to distance myself from people that are dragging me down. Thank you for blessing me with wonderful Christian friends-may I be a blessing to them this day. In Jesus’ name – Amen.

Today’s Word With Joel & Victoria Osteen – His Ways Are Higher

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:

“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
(Isaiah 55:9, NIV)

TODAY’S WORD:

A lot of times, we have our own ideas about how things should work out in life. But God’s ways are not our ways. In scripture, God brought water out of a rock. Jesus told Peter to go catch a fish, open its mouth, and there was the money he needed for taxes. Another time, God caused a young lady named Mary to have a baby without knowing a man. He is God. He can use things we would expect, or He can make things happen another way.

With God, you don’t have to figure everything out. All you have to do is believe. In fact, it says in Proverbs, “Lean not to your own understanding.” Sometimes there is no logical solution. You’ve got to turn your mind off. If you’re constantly trying to figure it out, that’s just going to make you discouraged, depressed and frustrated. Just because you don’t see a way doesn’t mean that God doesn’t have a way. Remember, His ways are higher, and He is working behind the scenes for your good!

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Father, I declare that my faith and trust are in You. I won’t try to figure everything out, but I will be still and listen for Your voice. I surrender my will to Yours. Thank You for Your faithfulness in my life in Jesus’ name! Amen!

Today’s Word With Joel & Victoria Osteen – God’s Servant

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:

“Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ.”
(Galatians 1:10, NIV)

TODAY’S WORD:

Paul was obviously not worried about trying to please the people around him. It’s not that he didn’t care about others. It’s just that he was focused on serving the Lord. Many times you maybe too worried about what people think of you, which inhibits you from following God with your whole heart. Instead, follow those God-given desires with reckless abandon, because all that will matter in the end is fulfilling God’s plan for your life. You are called to serve God without reserve, so fulfill His plan without letting others sidetrack you.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

God, give me the dedication to be Your servant alone. Help me not to be sidetracked by what others may think of me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Today’s Word With Joel & Victoria Osteen – Living To Give

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:

“God can pour on the blessings in astonishing ways so that you’re ready for anything and everything, more than just ready to do what needs to be done.”
(2 Corinthians 9:8, MSG)

TODAY’S WORD:

Nothing moves the heart of God quite like taking the time and effort to meet the needs of hurting and desperate people. When you focus on meeting the needs of others, you won’t have time to worry about your own needs – which is actually fine since God has promised to take care of your own needs when you spend yourself in behalf of others. The Bible says that God wants to bless you and give you in abundance what you need, so why wouldn’t you give? Give anything and everything you can, whether it’s time, money, prayer, or just a kind word. So if you want God to satisfy you with every good thing, go out and help somebody in need. Give your life away.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Lord, thank You for giving me so much from Your storehouse of love. Help me to reach out to others, and make their lives more blessed. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
