Today’s Word With Joel and Victoria Osteen – Choose To Enjoy Life

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:

“…I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].”
John 10:10 AMP

TODAY’S WORD:

A seventeenth-century monk named Brother Lawrence found the answer to enjoying the nitty-gritty of everyday life. He was a humble cook in a French monastery, but he authored a book entitled, “Practicing the Presence of God.” In it he explained how he was able to turn even the most commonplace and menial tasks, such as preparing meals and washing dishes, into acts of praise and communion with God. The key, he wrote, was not to change what you do, but to change your attitude toward what you do. When you begin doing these tasks, realize that you are doing them for God. Use it as an opportunity to worship Him through acts of service. When you do, you will discover pleasure even in taking out the trash. So don’t let the enemy deceive you into thinking that you must get away from your daily routine in order to truly enjoy life. Don’t wait for your next vacation—enjoy today and every day as a gift from God. Enjoy getting up and eating breakfast. Enjoy going to work. Enjoy mowing the lawn. Enjoy going to the grocery store. Enjoy washing the dishes. You have to do these things anyway—why not choose to enjoy them? When you do, you will go through life with a smile on your face, a spring in your step, and enjoy the abundant, overflowing life of victory that God has in store for you.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

God, what an amazing and blessed day this will be when I choose to tackle every task with joy and thanksgiving. As I go through my to-do list, I will do so knowing that every day is a gift and I am happy to accept it from my Father in Heaven. In Jesus’ name – Amen.

Today’s Word With Joel & Victoria Osteen – Hold On To Hope

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”
(John 10:10, ESV)

TODAY’S WORD:

Jesus is always on a mission of life. He wants to bring life to your spirit, life to your dreams, life to your finances, life to your relationships, and every area of your existence. He is always working behind the scenes; He is always out for your good. Things may not always be good, but that just means it isn’t over yet. We can hold on to hope today because He who promised is faithful. We can’t lose if we don’t quit!

The thief in today’s scripture is the enemy, the devil. He will do his best to knock you down and get you to quit. But, scripture says that Jesus has already overcome him and his ability to harm you! The key is, don’t give up! You have to keep standing, keep believing, keep praying and keep hoping in God until you see the victory! Don’t let your thoughts drift down to the worst case scenario. Instead, set your mind on hope! Speak words of faith. Declare that the answer is on the way. Hold on to hope and watch what God will do in your life!

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

God, do not allow the enemy to overcome me, but help me to guard my joy, my hope and my victory in Christ, which are wonderful gifts from You in Jesus’ name! Amen.

Today’s Word With Joel & Victoria Osteen – Really Alive

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:

“The thief comes only to steal and Kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
(John 10:10, NIV)

TODAY’S WORD:

A couple of years ago, I was watching the news when Captain Sullenberger successfully landed a jet airplane in the Hudson River. All 155 passengers survived. It’s known as “The Miracle on the Hudson.” A reporter asked one passenger what he thought about it all. He was soaking wet, freezing cold, a little bit frazzled, but he had this incredible glow about him, an excitement in his voice. I’ll never forget what he told the reporter, “I was alive before, but now I’m really alive.”

My question today is, “Are you really alive?” Are you passionate about the life God has given you? Do you get up every morning with enthusiasm, pursuing your dreams? God doesn’t want you to just “be alive” or just exist or endure. He wants you to be really alive! You have seeds of greatness on the inside. There is something more for you to accomplish. Get excited about what God is doing! Lift up your eyes of faith to Him. Keep hoping, keep believing, keep trusting and keep living because God has a wonderful plan in store for you!

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Father, thank You for making me alive in Christ! I declare that Jesus is my Lord and Savior, and because He died for me, I can live the abundant life here on earth. Help me stay focused on You this day and live with the enthusiasm that comes from knowing You in Jesus’ name. Amen.
